School Lunch Menu

At Ongar Primary School we aim to provide children with a full, varied and balanced diet through our school dinners, which are prepared daily in our school kitchen.  School lunches run on a three week rota and the menu is changed twice a year, in March/April and October/November.  The summer menu is from Easter to October half term.  Our winter menu is from October half term to Easter. The current menu is available for you to view below and is displayed in the school hall, as well as being available in the reception area. The weekly newsletter always tells you what menu week we are on. During morning registration, your child’s class teacher will ask the children if they are having a packed lunch or school dinner.  The children make their choice accordingly, which is noted and passed to the kitchen. Payment should be made in advance using our online payment system.  The daily charge for a school meal is £2.40  All children in EYFS and KS1 are entitled to a free hot meal under the Universal Free School Meal Scheme. Meals are cooked for all EYFS and KS1 children unless parents advise us differently in writing.

Any changes with regard to school meals will be mentioned in the weekly newsletter.
